Staff at a nursing home in Co Leitrim have announced plans to hold a month-long workplace protest against what they say are low staffing levels.

The Irish Nurses Organisation said employees at Aras Carolan in Mohill would be wearing badges on their uniforms for the entire month of August bearing the slogan 'Working Under Protest'.

The INO said the move was designed to express anger at low staffing levels during night shifts.

It said this was exposing residents of the home to unnecessary danger.
