Mark Johnston retains plenty of faith in Love Regardless despite the colt's heavy defeat in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
His three-year-old failed to live up to the trainer's high hopes as he trailed in 13th behind Rock Of Gibraltar in the Classic, on just his second appearance.
But Johnston said: "I am disappointed not devastated. There is huge room for improvement and reason to think he will improve.
"If he is OK I'll be looking to given him a drop in class and then think about the St James's Palace Stakes.
"He could still prove as good as we thought he was. He ran well for a long way, he got hit across the face and then he got tired."
