George Boateng today agreed personal terms with Middlesbrough.

The Dutch midfielder’s move from Aston Villa for a reported £5m (€7.9m) is set to be finalised on Monday.

Boateng told Villa’s official website www.astonvilla-fc.co.uk: "I am delighted to finally conclude everything.

"I’d like to thank everyone at Villa for what they have done for me, but now I’m looking forward to playing for Middlesbrough."
