Paul Cook has today been confirmed as the new manager of Sligo Rovers.
Cook takes over the job that has been vacant since the start of the season when Rob McDonald left the club.
As a player, Cook played for Wolverhampton Wanderers and was involved as a player/coach with Accrington Stanley when they were promoted to the English Football League last year.
Last summer, he took the Southport manager’s job but only lasted eight months with the club.
Interim managers Leo Tierney and Dessie Cawley will remain a part of his management team.
"Both Dessie and Leo will be heavily involved and I also want to bring in an assistant who knows the league, someone who will excite the fans," said Cook, at this afternoon’s press conference.
Rovers have also announced that young full-back Seamus Coleman has signed a one-year extension to his contract.
