A youth who denies sexually assaulting a then 12-year-old girl at her home in 2009 will face trial in May.
The 17-year-old boy has pleaded not guilty at the Children's Court to sexual assault of the girl at a house in Dublin.
Today, Judge John O'Neill ordered that the hearing of the case would take place on May 9 next. The teen, who was not present in court today, was remanded on continuing bail in his absence.
The court had heard that the boy had been staying with the girl's family. It was alleged he entered the girl's room and “climbed into the bottom bunk where she was”.
“He started feeling and groping her chest and vagina area over her clothes,” it was alleged.
Defence solicitor Gareth Noble had said the teenager was aged 15 at the time and denies the allegations. He had also said the boy had family difficulties and had witnessed “turbulence between his mother and father”.

Conditions of bail state that he must obey a 10pm to 8am curfew, not have any contact with the complainant or her family, not use any illegal drugs and sign on daily at a Dublin garda station.
