Sinn Fein alleges cover up over British-Irish summit

Sinn Fein has accused the British and Irish Governments of postponing tomorrow's scheduled summit meeting in Dublin to cover up for the Ulster Unionist leader, David Trimble.

Both administrations insist that the meeting has been put back to allow civil servants involved in the intensive talks between London and Sinn Fein to continue working uninterrupted.

However, Sinn Fein claimed that this is untrue and that the real reason is to defuse the inevitable row that would have ensued had Mr Trimble intended to bar Sinn Fein ministers from attending.

The party added that this is further proof of Mr Trimble's campaign to wreck the Good Friday Agreement.

A UUP spokesman replied that there was no justification for the accusation.
