Murder investigation launched after discovery of Ciaran Noonan body
Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of the body of Ciaran Noonan on Friday night.
His body was discovered in a field in Co Meath after searches were carried out in the area.
The body of the man recovered by gardaí outside Trim late Friday night has been formally identified as Ciaran Noonan who went missing from the East Wall area of Dublin on October 20.
He had been assaulted and bundled into a car by up to five men while out walking in broad daylight.
Last week, a priest received an anonymous tip-off that the 29-year-old's body had been dumped in a ditch in Co Meath.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out and gardaí have now launched a murder investigation.
A man in his 20s was arrested in the North Dublin area this morning in relation to the killing of Mr Noonan.
He is being held at Store Street Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
