Canada visa programme set for expansion

The visa programme between Ireland and Canada is expected to be expanded today.

Canadian Immigration Minister Jason Kenney is to hold a meeting with Tánaiste and Foreign Affairs Minister Eamon Gilmore in Dublin today.

They are then set to announce enhancements to the work travel visas for young people wanting to travel between the two countries.

The changes are described as "substantial", and come following an earlier meeting between the two in Toronto on St Patrick's Day.
