US continues attacks on Afghanistan
The United States has continued its daily attacks on Afghanistan, with overnight bombing reported near Kabul, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kandahar.
A huge explosion was also reported at the Bagram frontline north of Kabul this morning, sending a mushroom cloud 1,000 feet into the air.
The origin of the explosion was not immediately clear since there were no US aircraft immediately overhead.
Meanwhile, the opposition Northern Alliance has deployed hundreds of “elite” fighters at the frontlines near Kabul in preparation for a march on the capital.
