Police in Sweden broke into an apartment after spotting a "lifeless arm" in there only to find out it was a mannequin.

The officials in Galve saw the body part hanging from the balcony and took action after an emergency caller also reported seeing an arm.

The officials forced their way into the building after their knocks were unanswered but they were left red faced when they discovered what was in the apartment.

Police have not identified the mannequin's owner.
