Man to be charged in relation to Dublin murder

A 55-year-old man was due before Dublin District Court today charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found in Dublin’s city centre on Tuesday.

A 55-year-old man was due before Dublin District Court today charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found in Dublin’s city centre on Tuesday.

The man presented himself to gardaí yesterday afternoon, three days after the woman’s body was found wrapped in a bloodstained duvet on Mercer Street, near St Stephen’s Green.

He was being detained at Harcourt Terrace garda station under Section Four of the Criminal Justice.

Gardaí have confirmed he will be charged with murdering 49-year-old Rosemary Dowling of Home Villas, Donnybrook, in Dublin when he is brought before the District Court.

The mother of two ran a small CD shop on Aungier Street.
