Cork City FC has today lost its appeal against an order for the winding up of the club.

In a last-ditch effort to avoid being wound up - the club informed the court earlier that it has the bulk of the €440,000 being sought by the Revenue Commissioners.

However, the Revenue has rejected the offer and the High Court has now given the club until 4pm to lodge an appeal to the Supreme Court so that a stay can be placed on the winding up order

Tonight's game against Bray Wanderers at Turner's Cross will go ahead as scheduled.
