There was mixed news on the injury front from the Irish team base at Carton House, Maynooth.
Arising from the Six Nations win over Scotland on Sunday Cian Healy, Rob Kearney and captain Paul O'Connell all sat out today's training session.
Healy missed the main running session but did take light part in the scrums, as a precaution management decided to keep him resting another day with the Leinster man is suffering from fatigue.
Rob Kearney took a blow to his calf during the game and also sat out as a precaution, but Paul O'Connell is on the mend from a chest infection that ruled him out late.
There is further bad news for Eoin Reddan, Luke Fitzgerald, Tommy Bowe and Donnacha Ryan, who will not make selection this week.
Team manager Mick Kearney said: “In relation to the few injuries that were around last week, neither Eoin Reddan nor Luke Fitzgerald are available for selection this weekend, so they are just continuing their recovery."
“The same goes for Tommy Bowe and Donnacha Ryan, neither of them will actually play for their provinces this weekend but we are hopeful they might see game time next week.
“On Paul O'Connell, he was up all day yesterday and today, he was out in the fresh air and he's been quite vocal at last night's review meeting. I am pretty confident he will make a full recovery and will be available for selection for Saturday.
“Rob Kearney took a fairly heavy blow in the lead up to Andrew Trimble's try, which was on his shoulder but that's fine. His calf just pulled tight post the game, he didn't remember any particular incident but he really stepped out this morning more as a precaution”, Kearney added.
