A second lorry, believed to be connected to yesterday's multi-million pound cigarette raid in the North has been located in Co Louth.

The truck was found abandoned at Collon. The first vehicle was discovered last evening, at Tullyesker, one mile north of Drogheda.

Both are currently being technically examined by Gardai.

More than £4m(stg) worth of cigarettes was taken during the dawn raid at Belfast Docks yesterday, carried out by seven armed robbers.

Harbour staff were locked in a container while the cigarettes, which were bound for Belgium, were bundled on to four lorries and driven away.

A major cross-border police operation involving Gardai and RUC officers has been launched in a bid to track down the gang and the stolen goods, which bore health warnings written in French and German.
