Wasps flanker Jonny O’Connor looks set to earn his second Ireland start, after being named among eight new players added to Eddie O’Sullivan’s squad for next weekend’s Test against Argentina.

The 24-year-old, who made his international debut in Ireland’s landmark 17-12 defeat of South Africa nine days ago, was rested for the expected easy win over the US Eagles.

Leinster trio Reggie Corrigan, Aidan McCullen and Malcolm O’Kelly join O’Connor in the forwards – with Harlequins’ Gavin Duffy, Leinster pairing Denis Hickie and Brian O’Meara and Munster’s Shaun Payne the additions in the backs.

O’Sullivan is scheduled to name his side for Saturday’s match tomorrow.
