Stringer pays for Georgia error

Eddie O’Sullivan has reacted to his side’s dire 14-10 victory over Georgia by making three changes for the pivotal World Cup clash with France.

Eddie O’Sullivan has reacted to his side’s dire 14-10 victory over Georgia by making three changes for the pivotal World Cup clash with France.

Peter Stringer is the biggest name casualty with the veteran Munster scrum-half making way for Wasps’ Eoin Reddan in Paris on Friday.

Stringer, who handed Georgia an interception try at the Stade Chaban-Delmas on Sunday, has paid the price for his recent slump in form.

Powerful Ulster winger Andrew Trimble is named on the left wing with Denis Hickie struggling for fitness after sustaining a bruised knee against Georgia.

The one change to the pack is enforced with hooker Jerry Flannery replacing the injured Rory Best for his first World Cup start.

Ulster front row Best dislocated his right thumb against Georgia and has been ruled out for up to three weeks.
