Darjina is on target for a mouth-watering showdown with dual Classic winner Finsceal Beo in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday week.

The unbeaten filly, trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre, got up in the dying strides to beat Finsceal Beo by a head in the French 1000 Guineas at Chantilly a month ago.

Either side of that narrow defeat, Jim Bolger's star had landed the English and Irish versions of the one-mile Classic.

"The Coronation Stakes is the objective for Darjina," said Georges Rimaud, racing manager to owner Princess Zahra Aga Khan.

"She has done well since the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches. She worked at the beginning of the week and she is basically on target for this race as long as everything goes right until then.

"Finsceal Beo is a tremendous filly of great quality so it is very nice for this filly to have beaten her once and we will see what happens next time."
