Vodafone Oaks heroine Eswarah is likely to be given the nod to take on the colts and older horses in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes at Newbury on Saturday.
Her entry for the midsummer showpiece has been confirmed today and connections will have a look at the prospective opposition before making a final decision in the next couple of days.
“She’s in good shape and she will need to be for the King George,” said Angus Gold, racing manager to Eswarah’s owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.
“Sheikh Hamdan wants to have a look at the race and he may decide tomorrow or the next day.
“I would say that there’s a good chance of her going to Newbury.”
The unbeaten daughter of Unfuwain put herself in line for a crack at the King George when delighting connections on the Newmarket gallops on Saturday.
The filly, trained by Michael Jarvis, has already shown a liking for Newbury. She made a winning debut there in a mile-and-a-quarter maiden in April before returning to take a Listed race over the course and distance the following month.
