There are fears for almost 200 jobs at a bakery in Donegal.
One hundred and ninety staff at Gallagher's Bakery in Ardara have been called in to a meeting with management this afternoon at 3pm.
Last February, the company announced 36 new jobs to be phased in over the next three years.
It is understood there's been a review of operations at the Ardara plant by parent company IAWS, which also owns the Cuisine de France brand.
A new bakery has been developed in Dublin for Cuisine de France, with speculation that IAWS will move production of the Gallaghers and French Mill brands to Dublin.
There has been no comment from the company, but Stephen Mc Cahill, chairperson of Ardara Parish Council, said there was a sense of fear in the area today.
"They (the company) have a loyalty to profit and distribution and efficiencies…Really nobody has any real say in it. We just hope to God that what has been suggested (the loss of all 200 jobs) is not true," he said.
