House prices up 9% nationally as more houses come on market in Dublin
House prices have risen by 9% nationally in the past year, according to the latest report from the property website daft.ie.
The increase was largely down to a sharp rise in the capital, where residential prices shot up by 21% in the 12 months to June.
House prices also rose in the Dublin commuter belt, as well as in Galway and Cork cities.
However, house prices in Limerick and Waterford have continued to fall, by 9% and 4% respectively.
Daft.ie says more houses are coming on the market in Dublin, it listed 6,000 homes for sale between April and June, which is the largest number since 2008.
