Limerick hospital report recommends bed management system

A report on the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick has today recommended that a bed management system is put in place to avoid the placing of extra beds on wards.

The report forms part of the conciliation process taking place at the hospital which has seen a campaign of industrial action by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The INMO said that the report echoes what it has been saying about re-opening closed beds rather than adding extra beds in existing wards.
