Iranian radio is reporting that there will be military strikes on

Afghanistan by the morning.

The report says the capital Kabul will bear the

brunt of the attacks, however it also claims that other targets have been

selected. The Taliban has bolstered its defences in Kabul after mystery

planes were spotted overhead during the course of the day.

Anti-aircraft fire was targetted at the planes, but they were out of range.

The British Prime Minister Tony Blair says the military preparations for an assault on Afghanistan are now complete.
