About 25 people are recovering this morning after being evacuated from their apartment building in Dublin city centre following a fire there.

About 25 people are recovering this morning after being evacuated from their apartment building in Dublin city centre following a fire there.

The fire broke out in a ground floor apartment at the Castleforbes Square complex on the Castleforbes road at about half past five this morning.

One woman was injured and was taken to the Mater hospital where her injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Dublin fire brigade brought the blaze under control but the woman's apartment was severely damaged.

A number of other apartments were also damaged.

Gardaí are investigating.
