A Cuban man is "proud" of having 24 digits.

Yoandri Hernandez Garrido - who was born with six perfectly formed fingers on each hand and six perfectly formed toes on each foot - explained people "admire" him for having extra digits, which has enabled him to make money.

He said: "Since I was young, I understood that it was a privilege to have 24 digits. Nobody has ever discriminated against me for that.

"On the contrary, people admire me and I am very proud. I have a million friends, I live well.

"It's thanks to my 24 digits that I'm able to make a living, because I have no fixed job."

Yoandri climbs up palm trees to cut coconuts and often has his photo taken with tourists, one of which paid $10 – half the average monthly wage in Cuba - to have their picture with him.
