Reading difficulties still an issue in disadvantaged areas

One in three children living in disadvantaged areas have basic reading problems.

One in three children living in disadvantaged areas have basic reading problems.

This is just one of the shocking statistics being heard at a seminar on literacy in Dublin today which is aimed at raising awareness about the problem.

Ways of tackling the issue will also be up for discussion.

Aodhan O' Riordain from the Right to Read Campaign has said that these statistics are extremely worrying.
