Schumacher launches EU road safety drive

Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher will launch an initiative aimed at halving the number of road deaths in the European Union in Dublin today.

Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher will launch an initiative aimed at halving the number of road deaths in the European Union in Dublin today.

Transport Ministers from the 15 EU member states and 10 accession states are due to officially sign the European Road Safety Charter.

Schumacher will be the guest of honour at the signing ceremony, which is being hosted by the Irish presidency of the EU.
