Two arrested in connection with Kildare drug seizure

Two men have been arrested after a drug seizure in Co Kildare, it has emerged today.

Two men have been arrested after a drug seizure in Co Kildare, it has emerged today.

Ten kilos of cannabis resin and 3.5kg of cocaine were found when gardaí stopped and searched a van on the M7 close to Kildare town, at about 8pm last night.

The haul is understood to be worth around €315,000.

The men, one aged in his 40s, the other in his 50s, were arrested at the scene.

They are now being held at Carlow garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.
