Unions and management fail to agree severance package at Athy plant

A meeting between trade union officials and management at the Peerless Rugs factory in Athy, Co Kildare earlier today, has failed to broker a satisfactory severance pay deal.

A meeting between trade union officials and management at the Peerless Rugs factory in Athy, Co Kildare earlier today, has failed to broker a satisfactory severance pay deal.

The 65 workers who have lost their jobs have described the current offer on the table as derisory and insulting.
