Vaughan to lead Dublin attack

Free-taking hero Mark Vaughan has been named at centre-forward in the Dublin team for Sunday's Leinster SFC semi-final against Offaly (Croke Park, throw-in 4pm).

Dubs boss Paul Caffrey has named an unchanged side for the semi with Vaughan moved from left corner forward to centre-forward.

The Kilmacud hotshot top-scored for the Dubs with eight points in last weekend's quarter-final replay win over Meath.

Caffrey's selection includes a series of positional switches, with corner backs David Henry and Paul Griffin swapping wings, half-forwards Diarmuid Connolly and Collie Moran have also swapped flanks, while Vaughan and Tomas Quinn have switched places and Conal Keaney is now stationed at full-forward.

Darren Magee, who came off the bench in the win over the Royals, is again kept in reserve due to a finger injury. The three other substitutes used last Sunday - Ray Cosgrove, Jason Sherlock and Bernard Brogan - have also failed to break into the starting fifteen.

Sunday's game is a repeat of last year's Leinster final which Dublin won by 1-15 to 0-9. The Metropolitans have won 15 of the counties' 22 championship clashes so far, with the 1982 Leinster final marking Offaly's last SFC win over Dublin.

DUBLIN (SFC v Offaly) - S Cluxton; D Henry, R McConnell, P Griffin; P Casey, B Cullen, B Cahill; C Whelan, S Ryan; C Moran (capt), M Vaughan, D Connolly; A Brogan, C Keaney, T Quinn.
