Teenager killed in Tipperary road accident

A 16-year-old girl has died from injuries she sustained in a road accident in Co Tipperary yesterday evening.

A 16-year-old girl has died from injuries she sustained in a road accident in Co Tipperary yesterday evening.

The teenager was cycling her bicycle in Grangemockler when she was struck by a car at around 6.30pm yesterday.

She was taken to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny, where she died early this morning.

Two elderly female pedestrians were also killed yesterday in separate road accidents in Dublin and Longford town.

A woman in her 70s died after being struck by a truck on Main Street in Longford shortly before 6pm, while another woman in her 70s also died after being knocked down by a lorry on the Finglas Road in the Glasnevin area of Dublin at around 9pm.

Gardaí are withholding the names of all three victims until next of kin have been informed.
