Pair a doubt for Birmingham

Central defender Matthew Upson and leading scorer Mikael Forssell are Birmingham’s latest injury worries ahead of the Barclaycard Premiership clash at Charlton.

Central defender Matthew Upson and leading scorer Mikael Forssell are Birmingham’s latest injury worries ahead of the Barclaycard Premiership clash at Charlton.

Upson is suffering with a sore groin while Forssell, who has netted 18 goals this season, has a sore knee although Blues manager Steve Bruce is banking on them both being fit given his other problems.

He is definitely without Stan Lazaridis, Martin Grainger and Darren Purse while it is considered too soon for David Dunn to be risked after his return to fitness from a hamstring injury.

As a result youngsters Neil Kilkenny, Carl Motteram and Andrew Barrowman have been named in the squad.
