Ireland's Thomas Chamney has failed to qualify for the next stage of the men's 800m event in Beijing.

Ireland's Thomas Chamney has failed to qualify for the next stage of the men's 800m event in Beijing.

Chamney finished fifth in his heat today in a time of 1:47.66.

The fastest two competitors in each of the eight heats progress to the next stage along with the eight fastest of the remaining runners.
