Lucas Johnson is going to kill Owen Turner in ‘EastEnders’.
The fallen preacher, played by Don Gilet, has made it clear he doesn’t like Libby Fox’s (Belinda Owusu) jailbird father Owen (Lee Ross), and when his anger overflows later this month, he kills Owen and buries the body under a tree.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Lucas is under the impression that his religious zeal means he can get away with anything. He considers Owen to be bad, and so doesn’t see anything wrong with killing him. Talk about playing God.”
Lucas has previously been involved in the accidental death of his wife Trina earlier this year, when he pushed her and accidentally impaled her on a garden rake.
Don also said the way his dark side has been revealed in the soap’s storyline has shocked some viewers.
He said: “I was getting fan mail where people were saying what a nice guy Lucas was - and, of course, now they know he’s not!”
Don, 41, said he was, however, relishing the chance to get his teeth into some meaty scenes and couldn’t wait until Lucas’s villainous side was revealed.
He said: “People like a soap baddy, and no one more than me! Every actor enjoys playing a character who’s flawed. I really love the Jekyll-and-Hyde aspect of it all.”
