Munster have been dealt a hammer blow with the news that John O'Sullivan and Trevor Halstead have been ruled out of consideration for selection for the Heineken Cup clash with Bourgoin next Sunday.
First-choice Halstead is a massive loss with a calf strain and it will be touch-and-go whether he will be fit for the final pool match against Leicester Tigers.
O'Sullivan has been sidelined by a medial ligament injury. He will be ruled out for six weeks.
On the plus side, Jerry Flannery took a full part in training today. Jeremy Manning (shoulder), Barry Murphy (stomach bug) and Denis Leamy should all be able to participate against Bourgoin.
