A nurse representative on the North Eastern Health Board is to resign in protest at what she claims is the worsening crisis in the region's Health services.

A nurse representative on the North Eastern Health Board is to resign in protest at what she claims is the worsening crisis in the region's Health services.

Nancy Allen, a member of the Irish Nurses Organisation, is accusing the board of failing to maintain services at the region's acute hospitals.

This follows the controversy following the death of a baby while her mother was en route to Cavan General hospital from Monaghan where maternity services have been suspended since last year.
