A court has heard ex-District Court judge Heather Perrin is recovering from a life-threatening soft tissue infection in her leg.

The 61-year-old from Lambay Court, Malahide, Dublin is on crutches over what has been described as a very unusual infection, following a knee replacement operation.

The former solicitor is facing up to five years in prison for deceiving an old family friend - Thomas Davis - into leaving half his estate to her children in his will in January 2009.
