A group representing the Travelling community and the Pavee Point centre is to meet with Dublin City and Fingal County Councils at midday to try to find a resolution to the dispute over the closure of an access road in Finglas.
The row flared after Dublin City Council decided to close off an access route to a halting site at Dunsink Lane because of extensive illegal dumping.
Over the past week, the Travelling community held high-profile protests against the move, saying they were not responsible for the dumping and were being unjustly punished.
Last night, disturbances broke out in the area involving up to 250 people.
A spokesperson for Pavee Point said they were not involved in the incident.
