Gardaí are investigating an explosion in the front garden of a house in north Dublin overnight.

Gardaí are investigating an explosion in the front garden of a house in north Dublin overnight.

It is believed a pipe-bomb was planted under a parked car in the driveway of the house on Greenhill Avenue in Finglas.

Four people were in the house at the time of the explosion, but no one was injured.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the attack - anyone with any information is asked to contact the Gardaí in Finglas on 01-666-7500.

Meanwhile, an investigation has also been launched into an incident in the north inner city, in which a hoax bomb was thrown into a house.
