Noel Fehily has been ruled out of Cheltenham and will be sidelined for about four weeks after fracturing an ankle in a fall at Newbury.

The 30-year-old jump jockey discovered the extent of the damage following his tumble from Fandani on Saturday after seeing specialist, Dr Michael Foy.

“He’s got a fracture so he’s going to be four weeks out. It’s a big blow for him, but he’ll bounce back from it,” said his agent Chris Broad.

“He saw Dr Foy this morning and he’s going to have it scanned to make sure there’s no chip in there so he’ll be seeing him again on Wednesday."
