Gormley: Talk of second referendum is premature

Green Party leader John Gormley says it is still too early to talk about holding a second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

Green Party leader John Gormley says it is still too early to talk about holding a second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

Mr Gormley was responded to comments made by European Affairs Minister Dick Roche over the weekend.

Speaking in a personal capacity, Mr Roche said he believed a second referendum would have to be held.

However, Mr Gormley says the Government needs a “continued period of reflection to see what can be done” and talk of a second referendum is premature.
