Eleven black books were shown by referee David Coldrick but no yellow cards were issued as Kildare accounted for Wexford by a six-point margin in today's O'Byrne Cup clash at Newbridge.
A James Kavanagh goal proved vital for the hosts as they withstood a determined second-half comeback.
Defender Michael Conway scored some excellent points for Kildare, who lined out minus regular free-taker John Doyle.
Ciaran Deely, Jason Murphy and Shane Cullen kept Wexford in touch, but Kieran McGeeney's home side were not to be denied.
