London first stop on Spears' world tour

Britney Spears has announced the first dates on her upcoming world tour - just days after reportedly asking a Los Angeles court to grant her permission to embark on the global trek next year.

Since her breakdown earlier this year, the pop star is under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie, who handles all her legal and financial affairs.

And despite previously announcing plans to play a string of live dates in 2009, the star is barred from making her own business decisions and the tour was said to hang on the verdict of a judge.

Spears attended a conservatorship hearing in Los Angeles on Friday to reportedly lay out plans for the live dates. She is said to have told the court commissioner she feels competent to complete the work and wants permission to go ahead with the arrangements, according to TMZ.com.

And now Spears' representatives have confirmed the first dates on her tour, announcing shows at London's O2 Arena in June.

Tickets for the performances on June 3 and 4 June will go on sale to British fans on December 5. Spears last performed in the country in 2004.

Rob Hallett, of tour promoter AEG, said: "It's going to be very special. We're creating a musical circus. Expect to see jugglers, dancers, tattooed ladies and acrobats."
