A man in his early 20s has died in a road crash in Co Offaly.

Jeep driver dies in Co Offaly crash

A man in his early 20s has died in a road crash in Co Offaly.

The jeep the man was driving was the only vehicle involved in the collision in Clonlee, Kinnity, at around 2.30am this morning.

He was the sole occupant of the jeep, which left the road and crashed.

The driver’s body has been taken to Tullamore Regional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The road has been closed to enable Garda Forensic Collision investigators to examine the scene.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
