Cork football manager Brian Cuthbert has made six changes to the side that was humiliated by Kerry in the Munster final three weeks ago for the qualifier clash with Sligo this weekend.

Cuthbert has made wholesale changes to the team that lined out that day but somewhat surprisingly has only made one change to the defensive unit that shipped 24 points to Kerry in Páirc Uí Chamoimh.

Brian O’Driscoll has come into the side at left half-back with Damien Cahalane dropping out and captain Michael Shields switching from right corner back to right half back. James Loughrey will fill the corner back position vacated by Shields.

Otherwise, it’s as you were at the back with Eoin Cadogan and Thomas Clancy retained at the spine of the defence.

Ian Maguire has been called into the midfield to partner Aidan Walsh while the forward unit sees four changes with just Paul Kerrigan and Brian Hurley retained.

The players making way are Damien Cahalane, Fintan Goold, Patrick Kelly, Daniel Goulding, Barry O’Driscoll and John O’Rourke.
