An incident on Dublin's Dame street is causing a traffic standstill in the area.

Man on top of Dublin building brings traffic to a stop

An incident on Dublin's Dame street is causing a traffic standstill in the area.

Gardaí have cordoned off College Green and Dame Street where a man is standing on a ledge on the roof of the old Ulster Bank building.

Dublin Fire Brigade and ambulance crews are at the scene.

Large crowds of onlookers have gathered around the Garda cordon.

Cars are being diverted at Dame Street and D’Olier Street.

Update: 11.35am

In a statement AA Roadwatch said: "Dublin Bus services are stopped on Dame Street. As a result, traffic is heavy inbound on Dame St and on Trinity. Congested also on D'Olier St."
