Sports Minister Jim McDaid has dismissed claims Fianna Fail and the Progressive Democrats are divided over the controversial National Stadium project.

However, Mr McDaid has agreed that the stadium should be scaled down from 80,000 seats to 65,000 seats because of worries over the high cost of the project.

The minister said he supports the Tanaiste’s view that the independent audit of the stadium plans should be made public.
