Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is confirming he had a "long conversation" with

Minister of State Eamon O’Cuiv earlier today after he confessed at the

weekend that he voted no to the Nice Treaty.

Speaking to reporters in Dublin Mr Ahern said it must have been difficult for the minister to campaign for a yes vote while voting no himself.

The Taoiseach is describing Mr O’Cuiv’s move as unusual.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Foreign Affairs Brian Cowen is in Luxembourg

meeting his EU colleagues. They are discussing the fall out of the

referendum. They are remaining adamant that there will be no renegotiation.
