An unnecessary – and dismal – re-make of the 1984 film that got short shrift from the Stateside critics and audience alike.
Set in the future, you have been warned, people are supplied with manufactured organs at a vast price … and if they can’t keep up the payments the repo men, in this case Remy (Law) and Jake (Whitaker), are sent to get them back, with much blood and gore.
Remy then finds that his organs, installed after an accident, are too costly and goes on the run to avoid the flashing knife of former pal Jake.
It’s all rather pointless, poorly written and a sad example of a promising idea simply thrown away.
Law is adequate, Whitaker isn’t given enough to work with, the background to the storyline never filled in … all unnecessary and dismal.
