The annual Wolfe Tone commemoration takes place in Co Kildare later this morning.

The annual republican pilgrimage begins at noon at the grave of Theobald Wolfe Tone, known as the Father of Irish Republicanism.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is to attend the ceremony at Bodenstown Cemetery, where he will address the gathering and lay a wreath on behalf of the Fianna Fáil party.
