Madonna, Blur and Robbie Williams have all been held off the UK number one spot tonight as Oliver Cheatham and Room 5 hold on to the top of the charts for a fourth week.
In an astonishing show of popularity, the reworked 80s soul classic Make Luv clings onto it’s number one position despite competition from some of the biggest names in pop.
Early sales suggested that Madonna’s American Life would topple Room 5, which features in the Lynx Pulse television advert, from the top of the charts but the self-styled queen of pop debuts today at number two.
Meanwhile Blur have entered the charts at number five with their single Out Of Time, the first release from their seventh album.
And Robbie Williams’ highly anticipated return to the charts with Come Undone enters at number four.
Also defying the harsh competition, 50 Cent’s In Da Club remains at number three.
In the album charts Coldplay’s ever-popular A Rush of Blood to the Head has nudged the White Stripes off the number one spot.
And Justin Timberlake’s Justified climbs four places to number three.
